I have been described as a troubadour. A man of music. A soul that follows its internal melody. Whether I am writing songs of freedom on the rocks of paradise or mourning my lament with minor chords, music is how I connect. Music is how I relate. I become centered through notation creation and my unwritten song is worship.
I also love to entertain. If you know me or have seen me perform you know that I have a knack for laughing along and enjoying every moment that I play for you. It is always a joy to take requests from the audience and to be charged with the task of making them smile.
I am a teacher. One of the biggest thrills of my life is to have been able to teach so many people guitar. I long for the “A-ha!” moments when a light shines in my students eyes as the ideas and musical theories finally connect in their minds. It is a great pleasure of mine.
I am a husband. My wife and I love and support each other. Whether I have a mental, physical or spiritual problem she is there with a faithful heart and an honest spirit. Whatever her need I am by her side and will fight for her well-being constantly.
I am a journeyer. At times on this road I have ran smoothly and I have also tripped and fallen. I have skinned my knees and I have broken some bones. I have been loved and I have been crushed. I have seen good in those considered bad and I have seen bad in the hearts of those thought to be good. And I know that I have only begun to travel. But I keep on walking in anticipation for the good things.
All told, I am a man. A man with dreams and a man with ambition. A man with strengths and frailties. A man who has made many mistakes and one that has been forgiven much. But most importantly I am a man who wants to stop making the same mistakes, buck up and live a life worthy of the calling that I have received. |
